should have paired the chinese MRE with rice. Asian foods are always paired with rice to compensate the strong flavor. try it and it’ll take you to the next level of flavor.

The difference being the Chinese pack is full of useful food. The US pack has a bunch of processed junk like Skittles and processed sugar like jelly.. I'd rather have the Chinese one. Incidentally, you don't see any overweight or obese Chinese service personnel, unlike in the US Forces. The Chinese troops will go for longer and further on their quality food than the US troops will on Skittles, crackers and jelly. My husband is a 22-year veteran of the British Army. The best MREs he had were from the 1980s.

I would be tempted to put the hot date in the vanilla shake for a bit of duff.

Chinese have a concept I've never seen before, an entire ration made of parts to complete a whole meal. Separately they meh but together are amazing (omitting the soup) but I think the idea is good, a great moral booster. Yes, the calories are nothing and there no snack or a sugar boost (Peanut butter and a candy a must in my opinion) but otherwise Ingenius. A "homecooked" meal as a ration, great moral boost idea. sure, its low calorie but heck Napoleon quoted that and army marches on its stomach. no lie those quail eggs and the soup I love to try myself

Do we know that the Chinese only get three of these a day and that's it? What if they get additional snacks and whatever on the side to supplement their mealtimes? What if they get four of these? From a food quality and macro perspective per calorie, I'm siding with the Chinese MRE here. It's not all overly processed carb sources beyond recognition from its raw form, be it sugar or flour. Skittles and sugary jams isn't exactly my idea of food for a soldier. Why not add a few spoons of animal fats and some protein to the main instead? It takes up less space and has a lot more calories and nutritious quality to it. Lard, duck fat and butter needn't be too expensive either. 🤷🏻

I think that rice is supposed to be mixed with all the given side dishes except for the egg soup.

I need to try that Chinese MRE is there a type number or something to help us search it? Next time I order Chinese food I'm asking for tomato egg drop soup and braised quail eggs, I mean why not. Thanks for this Vid!

I feel like you have failed to understand that all of the things in the Chinese meal had to be put in the box and poured some hot water on top of them. You've also pointed out that the Chinese meal has very few calories, but the meal is made for the Chinese and the Chinese are kinda small so they don't need that much calories. Also most of the calories the American meal had comes from sweets and candies, while the actual food didn't take that much place. Chinese meal seems like something a woman on a diet would eat, while American meal looks like something an office clerk would eat and then come home to play Xbox after finishing the job. Chinese meal lacks calories, American meal lacks actual nutrients and protein while most of it is just sweets. It's not something a man would like to have on a frontline.

That " egg drop soup" looks like my dads mock chicken. Lol

Chinese beef is often water buffalo rather than cow, so that could account for texture differences as well.

I don’t like the switching between each MRE, for each item… They should be experienced as a whole meal. Love the vids. Been watching for ages.

Liver pate is a common breakfast spread in central Europe. Liver is just one ingredient of it. Ofc we use it on a slice of bread, not crackers and we use butter too to made a bit more mild the taste of it. There are lots of different recipe so some are more yummy, some less. A good sourdough slice, butter, liver pate, slices of hard or semi hard boiled eggs on it, pepper (paprika), tomatoes, cucumber, radish, spring onion the side, depends on the season.

I have never used that beverage bag for my beverages it’s always used for my phone and other things I don’t want to get wet lol😂
